I created this piece using tons of risks and doing things i never did in art before.
Water color was something i stayed away from because i thought i wasn't good at it. I chose my favorite colors and splashed them on not knowing how it was going to end up and it turned out beautiful. I named this piece thoughts because when people want to think they tend to go outside and go for a walk or go swing and get lost in their mind. I go swing and feeling the wind help me thing i am free to think whatever is on my mind. |

When I was creating this piece I had a lot of ups and down moments. Some days I would feel proud and confident in what im doing, and the other days I would feel like my artwork looks bad and be confused on how to make it look better. No matter how I was feeling i would still work. If i felt bad I would put it away and work on something else to clear my mind. I decided to name the piece 기타 (gita), because when I look at this piece it reminds me of when I traveled to Seoul, South Korea with my grandmother and seeing all the abstract art and all the people with guitars singing, dancing, and being themselves. So I decided to put the two together and create something of my own. I remember pointing out a guitar when I was younger and my grandmother got me one for christmas. Ever since then I would always play with it and ended up teaching myself out to play guitar. I used to think abstract art was easy, but now that I am older, it is more difficult than I thought. I always do something I am passionate about, I always think of the quote “I’d rather die than live without passion”. If you find something you are passionate about, you will more than likely be happy about the final product.
